Nebulized sinus therapy

Nebulized sinus therapy – putting the treatment where it matters most!

Chronic sinus infections affect as many as 1 in 8 Americans.  Some of the symptoms of this condition include head pain or pressure, discolored nasal mucus or postnasal drip, and loss of smell.  Many patients are treated with frequent courses of oral antibiotics (example – Augmentin), or may even have to resort to sinus surgery.  Many patients continue to experience recurrent sinus problems, even after surgery, and are in need of an alternative therapy.

Over the past few years, we have been prescribing antibiotics that are administered directly to the nose and sinuses of patients with recurrent infections.  The medication is placed into a special cup-shaped device which then creates a fine mist which can be easily inhaled.  This novel approach to chronic sinusitis has helped many of our patients, and reduces the bothersome side effects of oral antibiotics such as stomach cramping or diarrhea.  If you have chronic sinusitis, you might benefit – call to find out if you are a potential candidate.
